LONDON’S calling for a popular Port singer who will grace the same stage where the likes of Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix have performed.
LONDON’S calling for a popular Port singer who will grace the same stage where the likes of Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix have performed.
Talented singer songwriter John Morgan has been lined up to play the famous Troubadour club on Wednesday 20 August.
John, 33, will add his name to a long list of worldwide stars who have headlined the Earls Court venue, including Dylan, Hendrix, Paul Simon, Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood and Adele.
John said: “Since 1954, the club has been a hotbed of emerging talent and a leading light in excellent musicianship and live music
“It plays host to performers of real talent who write and perform their own material.
“Previous musicians that have played the Troubadour stage include Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Simon and Adele, to name a few.”
The London show will kick off a busy few weeks for the Port man, who has earned a glowing reputation in the past few years since hitting the road as a solo artist following stints in bands. John has been confirmed to play: Room in Largs on Friday 8 August — free entry; Glasgow’s Pivo Pivo on Tuesday 12 — tickets £5; Hark in the Park, Gourock, on Sunday 24; Krav Island, Balmaha, Loch Lomond, on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31.
In recent years John has played a number of major events and at some famous venues including Celtic Connections two years in a row, Acoustic Affairs, Largs Live and Oran Mor.
